| A View of our Living Room |
The Sheetrock is up! It is very exciting to get to this point in our project! As we start to view our home with walls I have been considering what it is going to feel like to live there. It's funny how your memories fade over time. I have almost forgotten what it feels like to not share living spaces with my parents. I think after being a little tight in a smaller house, we are all thinking it will be nice to spread out a bit. The boys are anxious to have their own bedrooms and a bonus room (aka "the upper room/man cave"), I am excited to have a walk-in closet and master bathroom again (this bathroom sharing with 4 boys is for the birds!), Mom is excited to have her own kitchen and her own laundry area (she won't admit it but I know she can't wait for an undefiled laundry space), Dad and Dale are excited about......I don't know what, but I am sure they are excited about something (wink)!
My parents' side of the house looks pretty much the same as it did before we tore it down. The front wall has been extended by 4 feet and they now have vaulted ceilings in both their living room and bedroom. I think the entire family is happy that it will have the same overall feel. We have so many good memories there!
The truth is, we have gotten pretty used to functioning as a family of 7. As I have mentioned in previous posts, we have had to learn some things. Just considering more people takes effort on the part of everyone. Thinking more about the needs of others is never a bad thing in our house! Philippians 2:4 says "Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others."
